So I start blogging again.
I remember, I wrote my first blog post back in 2009, though not a blogger by profession but I wrote because my mind needed a space to share its thoughts. Thoughts – which revolved day and night!
Now here at DoLovers.com, I would like to open up by sharing something which i wanted to write for a while and I think this is the best possible theme to kick off — My Journey.
What has always appealed to me in my journey till now is starting early. What I figured out was it has helped me a lot. The experience we get early, is very important – helps in future. I am not someone great or haven’t achieved something great till now, but I found a few points that I feel I should share:
You won’t be scared of failing, early
Well, the basic idea is – If I fail, I have time to balance myself again. This is only possible if you start early. When you have time to experiment and you know what you actually want to do, it surely means you have something good in store for your future. Even if you fail once, twice, you would have some time to balance out in the third try. Remember, if plan A doesn’t work out, you still are left with 26 alphabets!
This reminds me of what Michael Jordan said –
I have missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I have lost almost 300 games. On 26 occasions I have been entrusted to take the game winning shot .. and missed. And I have failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why… I succeed.
Experiment
I h3ly believe in –
All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better.
However, for experiments you need time early in your life. You simply can’t experiment with your job/startups/ideas/etc when you are already settled with your wife and kids. I don’t say you can’t but you would be late.
Identify what you want to do?
If you could identify what you want to do early enough in life, its surely a bonus point. Also, if not, you can experiment and identify what we don’t want to do. Even that helps. Also, the amount of experience you get trying different stuff just to identify what you want to do is priceless.
We know lots of people who have achieved success just because they experienced everything early enough and with that experience revolutionized.
On one such occassion on the 15th of Dec 2011, I was online talking to my cousin and we were discussing (read fighting) that whose better between Ratan Tata and Dhirubhai Amabani. I being a gujju favored the latter obviously 😀
The joke continued when i made a psd reading “Dhirubhai Amabani > Ratan Tata” and this was the first of the 172 and counting GUJJU TIPS i wrote.
Would like to conclude this post just by saying that do what you love, love what you do but in between don’t forget to experiment with what you have!
I hope this post helps all the youngsters who are still in high school to know the importance of starting early in life. Please feel free to share your story – how starting early has helped you or if you regret starting late towards your goals.
